Pullen Park Photography

I had the pleasure of photographing a really cute family last Saturday at Pullen Park in Raleigh.  It had been a while since I had taken pictures of any kids over the age of 5.  These two teens are in middle school and quite a change from the toddlers I'm used to.  For one, I didn't need to bribe them with lollipops.  It was a beautiful day and a lot of fun taking pictures!

Meet Baby Brinley!

I think taking pictures of newborns is going to be my favorite kind of photography.  I didn't get to practice much on my own kids, but I have a great time taking pictures of other little babies.

For some reason, I haven't done newborn pictures of many girls, so I have extra fun taking pictures with all those cute dresses and headbands. 

This little angel was perfect during her session.  She slept through different poses and multiple clothing changes.  I don't think we could've asked for a more cooperative or photogenic baby.

Two Cute Little Boys

I wanted to do something fun with Jameson and Rhys this morning while Dan was running errands, so I took them to the Carroll Howard Johnson Environmental Park in Fuquay Varina.  This little park is the closest thing we have to hiking here in our town.  The trails aren't long, but it's perfect for letting Jameson run around and explore nature. 

After our little hike, we had lunch and I had some fun of my own, trying to photograph my two favorite little men.  They get sick of it quickly, but I managed to get some good pictures, mostly while they weren't looking. 

Newborn Model Search

Are you or someone you know expecting a new baby in May or June?  We are looking for newborn babies to photograph, using some adorable new props and poses. 

To the first 3 to reply, participants will receive a complimentary photo session and an emailed photo file of one image.  A CD of additional images can be purchased. 

To any additional who reply, participants will receive a discounted photo session ($100).

To participate, you do not need to know the exact date in order to book.  Simply let me know your due date and we will work around it.

Celebrating a Second Birthday!

Spring is a great time for photography.  We had such a mild winter, so we really can't complain at all, but I have to say that I am excited to see leaves on the trees and flowers blooming again.  And I'm loving the weather too.  I'm trying to enjoy it while it lasts, because we all know that in just a few weeks, it'll probably be up in the 90s again. 

Earlier this month, I took pictures for some friends of ours and their son.  What a beautiful family!  Their little boy just turned two years old the day after we took these.  He is the sweetest little guy, so kind and well-behaved.  I loved how he had to have his little monkey and tonka truck wherever he went. 

These pictures were taken at the Fuquay Varina Mineral Springs Inn, a beautiful bed and breakfast with lovely gardens surrounding it.  If anyone needs a wedding venue, this place would be a beautiful and romantic spot for a wedding!

Welcome!

I can't think of a better way to kick off the beginning of this blog than by featuring some pictures from a session I did recently of one of the most charming and adorable 5 year olds I've ever met. I've watched this little girl grow up and it seems like just yesterday she was a little baby. It's hard to believe she's already five! She sure gave me a run for my money. She ran all through the trails, leaving me to chase after her with the camera.

We did this session at the WRAL Azalea Gardens in Raleigh.  This is one of my favorite spots for photography.  I actually didn't really discover the beauty of it until last spring when we took our boys there for some family pictures.  The azaleas were finishing up their bloom, but there were several varieties that were still absolutely beautiful.
